As we head into the tail end of 2015, as promised, we’re going start our new segment of the show, the “Top Five” for things we’ve learned or implemented over the course of the year.

“You need to find your own way of doing things. Your own style is going to be important.” –  Greg Hickman

Top five Productivity Hacks:

  1. Having a ‘calendaring’ system (time blocking/using theme days)
  2. Having a system to manage your multiple email accounts
  3. Using Slack or Hipchat in place of your email
  4. Task Management System
  5. Getting up earlier

“Think of your brain like a battery. Every decision you make takes a little of that power…it drains on you.” – Justin McGill

Greg and Justin talk about their best practices, how to use different software and ways to manage their daily work. Both agree that getting up early in the morning is the best way to start out and sets the tone for a productive work day.

Every single task you have to do should be on a task list. – Justin McGill
