This is part two of a two-part interview where Justin really dives into his pricing issues with Patrick Campbell of PriceIntelligently.com. For part one of this interview and to listen to Greg go through his pricing issues, you can go here.

Do you recommend that startups should analyze their competitors and base your pricing off what they do?

Patrick says he doesn’t recommend this.

Should you grandfather current customers when you increase prices or raise everyone’s price?

Patrick recommends a “grandfathered” discount option.

Some other questions asked:

Is three pricing packages the right way to do it?

Does it make sense to remove the signup option and require them to contact you first?

How to differentiate packages when they are offering a different subset of features/services?

Does it make sense to package upgraded services and offer that as a stand alone or is it better to include it as part of an increased overall level of service?
