This was part one of a two-part interview where Greg really dives into his pricing issues with Patrick Campbell of PriceIntelligently.com.

Before we started the podcast, Greg and Justin agreed that whenever we did interviews we wanted to dive really deep into a specific challenge or problem (versus talk to entrepreneurs about their backgrounds). Patrick agreed to dive into both of our pricing challenges.

Greg really liked the pricing section on PriceIntelligently.com and wants to mirror the same approach now for MobileMarketingEngine.com.

Patrick discusses how their pricing has evolved over time. Once they built their customer profiles, they evolved and increased pricing significantly because they could match value to their pricing. Patrick recommends reviewing your pricing every quarter and making adjustments every six to nine months.

Patrick recommends reviewing your pricing every quarter and making adjustments every six to nine months.

Greg was really interested in how and why Patrick has price ranges for each of their packages instead of a standard rate. Essentially, this allows them to be more transparent while also allowing them to be flexible with customers that might need more (or less) help than others.

Greg’s big takeaway was how he needed to create pricing packages and name them after a customer profile.
