Greg’s Update:

Fails:

NONE

Results:

  • System.ly Revenue –
    • MRR: $23,449
    • October One-Time Revenue: $6500 (2 more course sales from last week)
  • I held Two webinars this week so far we’ve had 2 sales both of which are coming in the follow up so that’s promising but I need to fix a few things for “on” the webinar.
  • I decided to hold webinars a bit more consistently, contemplating weekly, especially as my ads are starting to work and gain traction….I’ll be tweaking my webinar here and there in order to then create an evergreen webinar
  • Had dinner with Chris Ducker and my wife Saturday and that turned into me and Ducker at a live blues bar where he tore it up because he used to sing in a blues band
  • Had dinner the next night with him, Andy Drish and Nathan Latka which was fun.
  • We got all the videos finalized for the site and those pages should be available later today
  • I recorded another video which will be a new FB ad starting early next week.
  • A company that specializes in Podio custom setups reached out to me and they have an interesting service for Infusionsoft users and we went through a demo with them. We’re at the point where being in 2 different project management tools is not good and I don’t think it’s gonna help us get to where we need to be if we want to scale. I essentially have 3 different systems for Sales, Operations and client related work and it’s annoying as hell.
    • Considering Podio
    • With our new package model, i’m reconsidering trello
    • I am sort of looking at Dapulse but man the ones that seem like will be a good fit, we’d need someone to help us develop it out cuz i don’t have the time for that.

Plans:

  • Headed to a wedding later today for the weekend
  • Headed to MN for the LeadPages Converted Conference M-W
  • I’ll be focusing on optimizing my ads for Thursdays webinar
  • I have my first EO forum meeting
  • A couple sales calls
  • Have an application page/process setup as well so that I can run ads into that…it may be a webinar or video training and then retargeting for direct to funnel discovery.

Justin’s Update:

Fails:

  • Outline our content marketing plan and prioritize which pieces of content need to be done first.
    • With the time spent on the tech specs, I just didn’t get to this. Hope to focus on this next week.
  • Figure out a plan for managing our new data set, which will fuel our prospecting engine as well as how we’re best going to append additional data and manage the updating process.
    • I’ve started this, and have notes together, but it isn’t finalized. I’ll be diving further into it. This is probably more difficult to finalize than the actual tech specs so I’m going to have to block out another day for this I’m sure.
  • Finalize UI designs and have them ready for html/css coding by next Friday.
    • Just had several revisions to get through so this didn’t happen. Getting close though.

Results:

  • LeadFuze software revenue is $32.9k MRR.
  • Booked our trip to Turkey. We’ll be staying in Istanbul.
    • Damian and I will be meeting up at JFK airport and flying over from there. The long flight should be put to good use.
    • Our developer is from the other side of the country, and is going to fly in there as well. We wanted all three of us to be in a new place together, so that we’re forced to be with one another for a few days.
    • It will be good timing as well since we’ll be knee deep into the new version by then and this will ensure we’re on the same page product wise, while allowing all of us to get to know one another more.
  • Finalized our second full-time developer, who we’ve actually used in the past. So this means we’ll be moving on from our other part-time help so that we can use our two full-time developers starting on Halloween.
  • Reviewed the office plans and that’s been finalized. Now the landlord is going to send it out to various contractors to get bids. While they’re doing that, we’ll go through the financial aspects.
  • Looking into an SBA loan as well just for extra cash on hand. Also helps us in case we don’t get the final investor for the remaining $50k. We’ll still be on the lookout here for an investor, but has to be the right situation.
  • Got designs concepts finalized, but still didn’t get started on the final batch. I have about 4 or 5 screens left that are still in a mockup stage. We’ll get that ironed out next week.
  • We’re going to be buying back the vested shares from our original CTO. This gives us some flexibility to use these shares for other key hires or even another potential investor if we wanted to.
  • I put together full documentation, or tech specs if you will, for v2.5. This actually took longer than I expected and ended up being 50+ pages. I spent most of Tuesday, literally ALL of Wednesday, and some of Thursday finalizing this.
    • I still have to swap out some areas where my mockups are showing instead of the actual design since those are the few missing designs at the moment.
    • I just put this together in Google Docs and basically went through each page of the app and explained what each button or link is supposed to do.
  • In other news, on Wednesday my phone completely died out of nowhere. I think the motherboard fried. It was a Samsung Note Edge. They don’t make them like this anymore where the side panel is actually usable, not just an aesthetic. So bummed. This left me phoneless for 24 hours.
    • I was actually planning on going with the new Notes this year anyway, but now that they had a global recall I had to find something else. So, I ended up making the decision to try the new iPhone 7 Plus.
    • It’s been years since I last had an iPhone. That said, they didn’t have any in stock and so I had to get a loaner iPhone 5 SE for a week. Soooo brutal. I remembered why I don’t like the iPhone, but this small version is tough to get used to. Some of the things I love about my Note Edge was the widgets. iPhone just has apps. So for example I had an Evernote widget installed that let access various parts of Evernote without even opening the app. Or a weather widget that showed the week’s forecast in one glance. Or the Google search bar right on the home screen. The messenger app is a floating bubble on an Android that doesn’t take an “app” slot and is easily accessible. I will say, I love when you take a picture and hold it down you see what happened just before taking the photo. The facetime is cool.
    • Anyways, I have 30 days to test out the iPhone 7Plus when it comes, but I’m probably going to switch to Google’s new Pixel phone when its released later this month. We’ll see how that goes.
    • I’m also without ANY contacts on my phone. So I’m going to try and see if I can get my Edge fixed just to turn it on and try capturing what I need from it.

Plans:

  • Complete all design work on the new version of the app and start some that will be after this new version.
  • Get current designs that are done to html/css coder so we can get that completed.
  • Outline our content marketing plan and prioritize which pieces of content need to be done first.
  • Finalize a plan to manage our data, add to it, scrub it, etc.
